Why we built it
I've been the surfer and the photographer.
Every surfer knows the feeling: you paddle in lit up from the best wave of your session, and it's already gone. I've been on both sides of it: the surfer who could never track down his waves, and the photographer who couldn't get surfers their shots.
So I built the place I wished existed: where every session is saved, every wave is findable, and the people who make surf happen are all in one spot. We're still early, and it's shaped by the people who use it. Tell us what to build next

What is SurfVault?
One place for the surf world. Surfers, photographers, shapers and brands share sessions, boards and films, all sorted by break and date, so you can find what was shot wherever you surf. Learn more about films.
Is SurfVault free?
Yes. Every account gets every core feature and 15 GB of storage free, no credit card required. Paid plans add more storage, your own watermark logo, and a verified badge.
How do I find photos of myself?
Open your break, pick the day, and see every session shot there, even if you never caught the photographer's name. Photographers can also tag you, so you get pinged when your shots land.
Why post my work on SurfVault?
Because it lands where surfers are already looking. Every session, board and film shows up on its break, the map and Explore. Your followers and the surfers who favorite that break get notified, and you get paid direct.
Who owns what I upload?
You do. Drafts stay private until you publish. Feeds show smaller, clean images so surfers can spot themselves, full-screen views carry your watermark, and your originals stay private until you approve a request or send a share link. We always ask before featuring your work outside SurfVault. See how your photos stay yours.
Does SurfVault take a cut?
No. Surfers pay you directly through your own Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or Cash App. SurfVault never touches the money and takes 0%.
Can I keep a surf spot secret?
Yes. Hide a session's location and the break stays under wraps, while your photos still show up in feeds and can be shared by their link.
